Works with major chains — Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum and more. Non-custodial: you control your private keys.

Why use the Coinbase Wallet extension?

Non-custodial by design

Your seed phrase and private keys are generated and encrypted locally. Only you hold the keys — we can't access your funds.

Seamless dApp integration

Connect to decentralized exchanges, games, and NFT marketplaces with a single click. Permissions are scoped so dApps only access what you allow.

Built-in swap & token management

Instantly swap tokens from within the extension with competitive routing. Add custom tokens and track balances across networks.

Security & privacy

Security is the top priority. The extension uses local encryption for private keys, optional hardware wallet integration (e.g., Ledger), and explicit transaction signing flows that show exactly what you're approving.

Seed phrase

Recover your wallet with a 12- or 24-word seed phrase. Store it offline — never share it with anyone. The extension will never ask for your seed phrase via email or in a popup.

Phishing & dApp warnings

Clear UI cues for connected domains and built-in phishing detection to help you avoid malicious sites. Revoke dApp permissions anytime.

Install & get started

  1. Click Add to Chrome (or visit your browser extension store).
  2. Create a new wallet or import an existing seed phrase (store it offline).
  3. Set a strong password for local encryption and enable hardware wallet support if desired.
  4. Connect to dApps by approving connection requests — review permissions carefully.

Tip: Back up your seed phrase immediately after creating your wallet. Consider using a hardware wallet for large balances.
